Pros:
Electric Maserati, still sporty and stylish
Modernized interior
Interesting alternative to premium electric German SUVs
Cons:
Certain areas with low-quality plastic
Infotainment system is similar to Peugeot
Not much practicality
What I like about this Maserati Grecale Folgore is that its an electric SUV that keeps the Italian passion alive! Through its design! There is something about the Maserati badge and front grill that just makes it seem superior to other electric car manufacturers.
The interior has seen far more modernization, with additional screens. Top screen being your infotainment system, and bottom screen being climate control! Similar concept to Audi E-Tron models. For Stellantis, this is an interesting alternative to popular German competitors, like the BMW iX and Audi Q8 E-Tron.
The Maserati Grecale Folgore shares the same platform as the Alfa Romeo Stevio and Giulia, which does explain the resemblance to the Stevio from certain angles.
Which brings me to the aspects I question. Being part of Stellantis, the infotainment system seemed very similar to what I had seen in Peugeot cars. Certain plastics, especially boot door, had similar quality plastic to a Fiat 500. Now this may not seem like a big deal, but when looking at a price of around 112k Euros, you'd expect more! Especially given its a Maserati!
However Stellantis isn't alone, the Volkswagen Group adopted similar practices, the Bentley Bentayga I reviewed did have a number of Audi-sourced parts.
Certain competitors offer far more equipment and practicality solutions. Now obviously when looking at a Maserati, you're not going to care about practicality, but sometimes its pleasant to have it anyways, right? The Maserati Grecale Folgore has serious challenges in terms of its price:
The Polestar 3 is desirable, well-equipped, and practical.
The Volvo EX90 and Hongqi E-HS9 offer 7 seats, more interior space and practicality.
The German competitors offer more technology and detailed infotainment systems.
